Frequently Asked Question
The LaSquare head is made from a cast aluminum, which is hardened & tempered. Then it is CNC machined. The reason we use aluminum is the weight factor & to make it easy for the worker to use. Because it is so much bigger than a regular square, it would be very hard to work with if it was made out of a heavier material.
The blade attributes include:
- Fully Hardened and Tempered
- Satin Chrome Finish
- Made From the Finest Quality Steel Available
- Precisely Etched, then Black Filled for Readability
The LaSquare should be used as you would a regular combination square. It is not a substitute for any other tool.
As with any highly precision tool or any accurate measuring tool, we would advise against using it as a hammer.
Yes, the Clamp Screw Assembly is available & sold separately on the website.
Also, each blade is sold separately as well so that people can have different lengths available for their LaSquare.
Besides the 2” extra wide base, another feature that sets the LaSquare apart from all other combination squares is the flush mount rule. That is to say that, the blade is flush with the face of the square to give you true line accuracy in marking.
The LaSquare head is size 5″ (L) x 2″ (W) x 4″ (H) and is the only size available. This design has been patented and is CNC machined with a 90-degree square face and a 45-degree miter face.
We do have different size blades that come in 12”, 18” & 24” sizes in stainless-steel & in precision ground machinist blades. We also carry both styles of blade in metric sizes of 300mm, 450mm and 600mm. All blades can be purchased separately as well.
